Margaret Selva

Owner and Lead Therapist
Margaret Selva Massage Therapist At Massage and Sauna Studio In Golden Valley

After seven years teaching middle school math in public schools, Margaret decided to switch paths to something a little more tranquil. While teaching, she received her certificate in therapeutic massage from CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu School and Clinic. Life took her to South America for two years where she was lucky enough to teach, travel, and massage. When she returned, she taught a little longer and dove deeper into learning more massage techniques such as reflexology, myofascial release, and Thai massage.

In December 2016 she went to the 612 Sauna Society pop up at Landscape Love and the rest is history. The healing power of a sauna session in the dead of winter inspired her to immediately sign up to be a volunteer. She wanted to learn it all, from starting the fire to hosting to cleaning up at the end of the night. She stoked the first season at Theodore Wirth Park and designed the Atacama for its inaugural season by the fall of 2019.

The body truly is a beautifully designed machine. Margaret loves solving acute and chronic pain problems and creating a massage session that both relaxes you and targets the areas that need attention, leaving you feeling like you just got back from Pucon or the Atacama. The calming beauty of these places in Chile is what inspired her to name her practice and build the aesthetics of the sauna. After working such a stressful job for several years, she made it a mission to help others improve their wellness so they can be at their best to help others.
